Maple Holistics Tea Tree Oil Shampoo Review

Hey guys! I know it’s been a minute since I’ve posted and it’s because…well, life. Lol! Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and I’m back with a review of a product that was sent to me by Maple Holistics. They specialize in natural and holistic products for bath and body, hair and skin care, personal care and even food. I received a bottle of their Tea Tree Oil Shampoo to try.

Maple Holistics, Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

Maple Holistics Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

It’s sulfate, parabens, gluten, GMO and cruelty-free. It’s supposed to clear away dead skin and sooth the scalp. I’m very picky with what I put in my hair but I’m all about natural products so I was very interested in testing this out to see how my hair responded to it. While I was shampooing I kind of felt like it was drying my hair out. But it felt really nice on my scalp and it smells like tea tree oil so no problem there. After I dried my hair I waited before adding any other product just to see the full effect it had, and my hair actually wasn’t dried out. It felt really smooth and lightweight like all the build up from the hair products I use regularly had been washed away. I was impressed. I personally would use this specifically as a clarifying shampoo. It’s not going to add any moisture to your hair so I’d follow up with a good moisturizing  leave-in product or conditioner. Overall, I think it’s a pretty decent shampoo. Anything that actually does what it claims to do is a win in my book! If you’d like to try this or one of their other products for free, go to their free sample page and choose which product you’d like to receive. Too easy!

That’s it for now. Until next time…XoXo

I did it again 😮

I said I wasn’t going to do it.  I said I wasn’t going to buy anymore stuff, especially hair products. I mentioned in one of my other posts that my supply of hair products is fully stocked. I don’t/didn’t NEED anymore, but of course I WANTED more.
I took my boys to get haircuts yesterday and my oldest is like me, very particular about what he puts in his hair. He wanted to get some shampoo/conditioner from Sally Beauty Supply. He uses Shea Moisture African Black soap deep cleansing shampoo and the balancing conditioner.

Both boys have eczema and dry, itchy scalp so this stuff really helps them with that. Shea Moisture products just happened to be  on sale, great! I love a sale!

I have been wanting to try Creme of Nature Argan Oil products for a while. Some of the curly girls I watch on youtube have had great results. I figured, why not? It’s cheaper than the stuff I normally use. So in my mind even though I was buying stuff I didn’t need again, I was still winning, lol! I bought their sulfate free shampoo, pure-licious co-wash, Argan buttermilk leave in hair milk, the pudding perfection curl enhancing creme, their intensive conditioning treatment and their strength & shine leave in conditioner. I also bought some more Jamaican black castor oil because I did actually need more of that,  and I got some rice paper oil absorbing blotting tissue.

It all came to a total of $75. My boy looked at me like I was crazy! I mean, he got two things so the whole $75 wasn’t just my stuff. That and the fact that what I bought this time is cheaper than my “go to” products, well that’s pretty much the only defense I have. 😐
I may do a review on it. I hope it’s as good as everyone says!

Aphogee Moisture Rich Leave in conditioner Review

Before I get into the negative review of this product, let me just say that there are a few other Aphogee products that I like and use such as the Curlific Textured Wash, the Curlific Curl Definer and the Keratin Green Tea Restructurizer. They work very well for my hair, especially the restructurizer. I’ve been using that for about a month and I’ve really seen a difference in my hair. Now back to the leave in…this has got to be the worst leave in conditioner I have ever used. It dries my hair out so bad and leaves my curls looking frizzy and lifeless. My hair just ends up being a big dry poof.

It doesn’t matter what other products I use with it or in what order. I’ve even used it with just the other products I mentioned earlier, I figured they’re all from the same line so maybe that would make a difference. Nope, same result. I’ve used it several times just to be sure before writing it off, I’m sure. This stuff is no good for my hair and I will not be using it anymore.

I gave it to my son to try out and he said it works just fine for him. Well he can have it honey! I will however continue to use the other products and I saw a couple more at Sally Beauty supply that I want to try, but since my hair care products are fully stocked I guess I’ll hold off on buying anything new.

If any of you use or have tried Aphogee products let me know what you think. And for all my naturals and curly girls, what products work best for you?
