Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation

I am obsessed with the Urban Decay waterproof, liquid foundation!! It came out a few months ago, maybe 2 or 3…I’m not sure but I first saw it on the snapchat of my favorite YouTuber, Nicole Guerriero. I waited a little bit before buying it because I wasn’t in desperate need of a new foundation and I wanted to see more reviews. Finally convinced that it would be perfect for me, I went ahead and picked it up about two weeks ago. Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation, Urban Decay

A little about it….it’s waterproof, longwear, full coverage, matte finish and oil free. I had a bit of trouble finding the right shade even though the girls at Sephora did a color match. I always have them do that before buying any foundation. I had to return the product twice and finally got the right shade on the third try. I was told the reason for that is because this foundation takes a little longer to dry and then oxidizes. So the correct shade for me is 6.5. The one before that was 7.0 and the first one I had was 7.75 which ended up being really orange. Because of my experience, my advice is for you to try it on first and wait for it to dry completely before choosing your shade. I mean, you can walk around Sephora/Ulta in the mean time looking at all the other things you want to try out and buy…can’t go wrong there lol!

This foundation is already a favorite for me. I wore it for the first time this past weekend and it’s amazing! It seriously lasted from around 9:30am to 1:00am(Yes I was hanging out, lol)! I got caught in the rain Friday night down in NC and it didn’t budge! I absolutely love it! The price is $40 and totally worth it for me. I will definitely be repurchasing.

Thanks for reading, Melyssa

My Last Lip Monthly Bag: August

Hey guys, I know I’m late with this but I just got back from a mini-vacation and this is the first chance I’ve had to post. As some of you know I’ve been trying out different beauty subscriptions lately and Lip Monthly was one of them. I’m also currently a Lip Monthly affiliate so if you go back to my previous posts you’ll see their links/banners somewhere on the page. Last month I made the decision to end my subscription and affiliation with them. I’m just really not happy with the lip products they’ve been sending me. There’s only been a couple that I’ll actually use. A lot of the stuff they’ve sent me don’t match my skin tone at all and I end up giving most of it away. So, I’d much rather spend my time and or money receiving products and promoting for a company that I’m actually satisfied with.

The monthly subscription isn’t expensive at all and they always have discounts and promos going so you can get a certain amount of money off of your first bag, but I wouldn’t mind spending a few extra dollars on a subscription that I actually loved.

So I’ll show you what was in the August bag. I realize that just because I’m not happy with the subscription doesn’t mean other people aren’t or won’t be, but I will not be including a link/banner in this post. The banners in my previous Lip Monthly posts are currently still active and some of them I think offer discounts if you want to go back and check them out.

  1. Seraphine Lip/Cheek Gel-$20 This stuff didn’t work well on my lips but it seems like it might be good to use as a cheek stain. It’s way to red for me to use on my cheeks though.
  2. Hikari Cosmetics Dual Color Stick-$15 This is another lip/cheek combo. Not at all my shade, but I will  say that it goes on velvety smooth and blends very well.
  3. Manna Kadar Lip Crayon-$24 I might actually wear this one. It’s a very nice nude/neutral shade that goes well with my complexion. It says “LipLocked Priming Lip Wand” so I guess it’s some kind of primer as well.
  4. Lord & Berry Lip Liner-$10 I’m probably going to use this also. I love the color and I feel like it will go well with the Manna Kadar Lip Crayon. I have several other lipsticks that it will pair well with. It’s super pigmented and has a very easy and creamy application.

That’s it for the August Lip Monthly bag, my final one. If you’ve tried Lip Monthly , what are your thoughts? I’d love to know. Thanks for stopping by!

BH Cosmetics, Missy Lynn Palette

The Missy Lynn Palette

Hey everybody!! A while back I posted that I had ordered the Missy Lynn Palette from BH Cosmetics. I received it a few days after that. I haven’t used it yet but I’m super excited to! The colors are so beautiful and perfect for fall. It’s been out for a while and I initially felt like I didn’t need it but I looked over it a few more times and my feelings changed, especially since I’ve already starting purchasing makeup for fall. Here’s a look…

I especially love the two gold, shimmery, metallic/highlighting shades. They’re so beautiful! I’m so glad I finally decided to get it! What do you guys think? Do you have it..are you loving it?

I’m loving everything in this box although I gave the Eden Bodyworks cowash to my oldest son and I’ll be using the Camille Rose Detangling treatment for my youngest son because the only thing I use for my hair is Deva Curl. So, initially I was just trying out different beauty boxes to see which ones I would like…I actually have a new one on the way now. I’ll definitely be keeping my subscription to the Essence Beauty Box. By the way, there’s also 10% off using code NS10ESSENCE, redeem at NUBIANSKIN.COM/US before 9/30/16.

August allure Beauty Box

Hey guys! I haven’t been posting much because I’ve been busy with school and the new house, so I have large stashes of makeup and beauty products sitting around, But, I’m getting to it…starting now with my August allure beauty box. I really like this subscription box so I won’t be cancelling it. I just finished using some of the products from last month so I’ll be doing a review…soon lol! Ok, so let’s get into it….

The first thing I grabbed from the box was the Pixi Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner. I see their products every time I go into target and I’ve seen a lot of youtubers use and review their stuff. One of my favorite Youtubers, The1nonlymaria LOVES Pixi. So this is an alcohol free toner that exfoliates and brightens the skin. It contains glycolic acid, aloe and witch hazel. The glycolic acid has been partially neutralized by ammonium hydroxide so it doesn’t irritate the skin. The price is $15 for 3.4 ounces. A coupon for $2 off a Pixi purchase of $10 or more at Target was included.

The next thing they included was the Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50. I’ve never heard of this product or brand before. It’s a mattyifying setting spray. It contains Averobenzone, homosalate, octinoxate, and octisalate which are sunscreens, silica silyate which controls oil and rosemary oil. If you have dry skin it says that this may be too chalky because it’s a slightly thick liquid and leaves a little film for the first hour or so but it does disappear. It’s supposed be good for protection against incidental sunlight and short exposures. The price is $28. I’m not too sure about this one so we’ll see.Supergoop, Setting mist, allure, allure beauty box, August allure beauty box, the beauty box

Next up is the Freeze 24-7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum. It’s a line smoothing cream that moisturizes and tightens the eye area temporarily. It contains glycerin and panthenol which moisturize, aloe vera for inflammation and amino butyric acid which temporarily relaxes muscles. It says that it is a thin white lotion that dries to a powdery finish and has no scent. The price is $115. It seems like an interesting product, I’m anxious to try it but I don’t know about that price though y’all.Freeze 24-7, Anti-Aging Eye Serum, allure, allure beauty box, the beauty box, August allure beauty box

Also in the box was another pur-lisse Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer. I received some type of pur-lisse product in last month’s Essence box that I wasn’t interested in because it wasn’t good for oily skin. This one is a light weight lotion that hydrates normal, dry or sensitive skin. The ingredients are algae, white tea and blue lotus extracts which are antioxidants and glycerin and stearic acid for moisturizing. It’s a milky, thin formula that applies like gel. It’s supposed to work well under makeup. The price is $55. Like with the last Pur-Lisse product I received, I think I’ll pass.pur-lisse, Blue Lotus balancing moisturizer, allure allure beauty box, August allure beauty box, the beauty box

I also received a Cargo Cosmetics Swimmable Eye Pencil in the shade 02 Pebble Beach. I’ve never heard of this brand either, which is what makes beauty box subscriptions so much fun…you discover new things! This eyeliner is water-resistant, soft tipped and glides on easily. The color is a deep brown-black. The price is $18. I feel like I’m going to like this one.

The last thing I received is the Wet Brush Midi brush*. It’s a cushion brush with long, flexible bristles. It claims to be good for untangling knots without snagging, even on thick waves and curls and can be used on wet hair. So, for myself…I don’t brush my curly hair. That’s a no-no for a lot of curly girls. We finger detangle in the shower and those who do use brushes don’t use this particular type. So, I’ll be giving this away. The price is $8.99.Wet brush-pro, Wet Brush Midi brush, allure, allure beauty box, August allure beauty box, the original beauty box

That’s it for now, I hoped you’ve enjoyed and maybe saw something that you might be interested in trying.

Lip Monthly: July bag

I’m a little late with this because I got caught up with moving and unpacking, and there’s still so much that needs to be done. Still, we’re so excited about being homeowners now and we’re loving our new place! Anyway, I wanted to share what I received in my Lip Monthly bag last month.

City Color Lipstick

I know for sure that I’m only going to use the lipstick from City Color. The Mirabella lipstick is the wrong shade of red for me, it’s just too bright. The Cougar lip plumper smells awful. As for the Bellapierre shimmer….I just don’t know. It looks like a powder and it spreads easily but then it sort of flakes up. I’m not feeling it at all.

I’m not too impressed with this bag, hopefully the August bag will be better.
