Maple Holistics Tea Tree Oil Shampoo Review

Hey guys! I know it’s been a minute since I’ve posted and it’s because…well, life. Lol! Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and I’m back with a review of a product that was sent to me by Maple Holistics. They specialize in natural and holistic products for bath and body, hair and skin care, personal care and even food. I received a bottle of their Tea Tree Oil Shampoo to try.

Maple Holistics, Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

Maple Holistics Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

It’s sulfate, parabens, gluten, GMO and cruelty-free. It’s supposed to clear away dead skin and sooth the scalp. I’m very picky with what I put in my hair but I’m all about natural products so I was very interested in testing this out to see how my hair responded to it. While I was shampooing I kind of felt like it was drying my hair out. But it felt really nice on my scalp and it smells like tea tree oil so no problem there. After I dried my hair I waited before adding any other product just to see the full effect it had, and my hair actually wasn’t dried out. It felt really smooth and lightweight like all the build up from the hair products I use regularly had been washed away. I was impressed. I personally would use this specifically as a clarifying shampoo. It’s not going to add any moisture to your hair so I’d follow up with a good moisturizing  leave-in product or conditioner. Overall, I think it’s a pretty decent shampoo. Anything that actually does what it claims to do is a win in my book! If you’d like to try this or one of their other products for free, go to their free sample page and choose which product you’d like to receive. Too easy!

That’s it for now. Until next time…XoXo

BH Cosmetics New Luxe Lacquer-Vivid Color Lipstick Review

Hey guys, I’m back to share my thoughts about the new vivid color lipsticks from BH Cosmetics. Once again I saw something advertised and immediately ordered it. What can I say…I have an addiction, especially to lipstick. Seriously though, BH Cosmetics has quality products at affordable prices and they have the best sales so I don’t feel too guilty. Besides, they were only $7 each.

To start off with, there are twelve shades but I only bought two. All the shades are beautiful but the two that appealed to me the most were “Blackberry” and “Columbian Coffee”. I’ve worn both already and let me just say that I’m a die-hard “matte” fan, but if there were any lipstick/lip gloss that could change that, this would be it!  They’re super pigmented and I love the formula. It has coconut & olive oils, aloe vera and CoQ10. It’s really creamy when you first apply it but it’s not at all messy and it doesn’t bleed. It’s long lasting, hydrating and leaves you with a nice glossy shine. It’s not kiss proof, it does transfer but I only had to reapply after eating and drinking just to get the glossy finish back. The actual color didn’t fade at all. I will definitely be repurchasing once I run out and there are two other shades that I need in my life…”Cherries Jubilee” & “Red Velvet”, then life will be complete lol!

That’s it for now, thanks for reading!

First impression of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit

There’s been a lot of buzz on social media about the ABH Glow Kits. I’ve been kind of obsessed with highlighters lately so of course I went to Sephora to check them out. I ended up buying “Sun Dipped” because I thought the shades would go great with my skin tone and they just looked like they would give off that perfect summer glow. The 4 highlighters in this kit are “Bronzed”, “Tourmaline”, “Moonstone” and “Summer”. They are absolutely gorgeous!! I haven’t used them yet but I swatched them and OMG! ABH never disappoints!

The pans are huge so you definitely get your money’s worth and they’re removable which is nice. I’m just going to go ahead and pick up “That Glow” and “Sweets” as well. They’re so beautiful, I can’t resist!

That’s it loves, I just wanted to share my  initial thoughts. I’ll definitely do a review after I’ve used them even though I’m sure you’ve all heard and seen tons of reviews about this product already lol! I hope everyone has a great week!

tarte cosmetics, tarte skincare, "pack your bags" 911 undereye rescue patches

tarte 911 Undereye Rescue Patches Review

I’ve been buying alot of tarte products lately. I’ve been keeping up with them on snapchat and they’ve come out with quite a few new and interesting things, especially for skin care. One thing that I absolutely could not wait to get my hands on were the “pack your bags” 911 Undereye Rescue Patches.

What they are: Little gel patches that are supposed to soothe and hydrate the skin under the eyes, and reduce puffiness and dark circles. The box contains 4 packs(2 in each pack).

Price: $22

How they work: They contain hyaluronic acid which adds moisture and firmness. They’re heat activated which is supposed to ensure complete, concentrated absorption.

How to use them: You apply them to clean skin and leave them on for 10-15 minutes.

I used them in the morning for 4 days straight. Each time I noticed that the puffiness under my eyes had gone down just slightly and the skin was very well hydrated…it looked like I had applied a moisturizer under my eyes. As for the dark circles…right after I removed the patches my undereye area did look brighter but that was only temporary. I kept mine in the refrigerator because one of the girls on tarte’s snapchat said they work better that way. I found them to be really easy to use. They’re flexible, fit perfectly under the eyes and they stay in place. You don’t have to worry about them falling off or sliding down your face. The packaging is super cute and eye-catching. Personally, I feel like the box should contain at least 6 packs..but that’s just me and maybe I’m asking for too much lol! Overall I think this is a great product and I will be buying more, only this time I’m going to buy 4/5 at a time so I can get more use out of them.

Have you tried them? If so share your thoughts!

Perfectly Posh, Coconut Oil, Big Bath Oil

Perfectly Posh Big Bath Bar & “Poshymallow” Coconut Oil Review

Hey guys, I just wanted to give a quick review on two of the products I ordered from Perfectly Posh last month. First up is the “Poshymallow” Coconut Oil…I’ve just been using this to shave my legs with. My legs get super irritated after shaving no matter what razor or shaving cream I use. Shaving with coconut oil and then putting it on my legs after really helps with the irritation. I tried using this particular coconut oil as an all over body moisturizer but I just really wasn’t feeling it. I didn’t use it on my hair…for that I’ll stick to the brand I normally use, Nutiva Extra-Virgin Coconut Oil. I use that not only for my hair and skin but for cooking as well. The “Poshymallow” coconut oil is a decent product. It has sweet poshymallow scent(whatever that is) which smells really good. But I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing it. I just like the organic kind better especially for cooking…I’m pretty sure this one is not for human consumption and should not be ingested. But if you’re only interested in bath and body and you want to try it, you get 4fl. for $7…check it out here

Next I have the “Strawberry Fields Forever” big bath bar. I just started using it last week and I’ve been using it everyday. It smells really good!  The first time I used it my skin instantly felt soft and moisturized. I will be repurchasing this. And it’s huge, 7oz. to be exact…so it should last a while. The cost is $9, check it out here

Milani “Prime Shield” Primer Review

I love Milani products so when I saw on their website that they had this particular primer, I grabbed my keys right then and went into CVS to buy it! I couldn’t be bothered with the process of ordering online and then waiting. You guys know by now that if there’s something that claims to be mattifying, able to control oil and reduce shine, I’m on it. I was so excited and just knew I was going to love it. WRONG. For those of you haven’t heard about it or just haven’t tried it, let me give you a little break down..

  • Mattifying + Pore Minimizing
  • Oil Free
  • Primes skin to create a smooth canvas before applying any foundation
  • Mattifies and perfects the skin
  • Instantly minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines
  • Lightweight, non-greasy feel
  • Does not clog pores

That’s their exact description, straight from the front and back of the tube. My friends, it didn’t hold up to any of that for me. I’ve worn it several times to give it a fair shot. I’ve worn it under liquid and powder foundation. It is not mattifying, in fact my skin ended up being slightly oily before I even put foundation on. It didn’t minimize the appearance of my pores and fine lines. It absolutely is not non-greasy, it is in fact very greasy. Based on everything else I’m not inclined to believe that it won’t clog pores. For $9.99 this was a huge disappointment. Those of you who have tried it, I’d love to know your thoughts.

Walmart beauty box

Walmart Beauty box unboxing

Hey guys, I had a little bit of free time today so I wanted to share what I received in my Walmart beauty box and my thoughts on it. It came a few days ago but I actually subscribed about two months ago. I completely forgot about it until I got the email saying that it had shipped. Anyway, I love beauty boxes! It’s a great way to find out about and try new products, things that you may not have even thought about trying but end up loving. This isn’t a monthly box. It ships every season(Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter), and the products will be relevant to the season. So when I opened my box, I wasn’t impressed but for $5 I can’t complain. Here’s what I received…Walmart beauty box, Arm & Hammer, Sally Hansen, Vaseline, St. Ives,Coconut Nail Art, Lady Gaga "Fame", Schwarzkopf Diamond color & radiance shampoo/conditioner

  1. Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair lotion-I’ve used this before and it’s pretty decent. My boys have eczema so they use it from time to time and I just use it for my hands. It’s not something I purchase on a regular basis though.
  2. St. Ives Apricot exfoliating scrub-I’ve never used this before. I see it all the time in Target and I never think twice about it so, I’m excited to try it.
  3. Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs water-resistant leg makeup-I’ve never heard of this stuff before and I really don’t have any use for it. However, I did put some over my tattoo just to see and it covered it pretty well. If I ever need to hide my tattoos it’ll come in handy.
  4. Schwarzkopf Diamond Color & Radiance shampoo and conditioner-Developed with Claudia Shiffer, this is for colored or highlighted hair. It says that it’s fast drying with diamond gloss serum and UV filter.  Since my hair is curly, uncolored and requires very specific products, I won’t be using it at all.
  5. Coconut Nail Art-Another product I’m not familiar with and won’t be using. They’re polished strips that you peel and stick on your nails. It says to use nail polish remover in order to remove them. If you want to skip the nail salon and save money, this could be a good alternative.
  6. “Fame” Perfume by Lady Gaga-I actually like this perfume. It’s not too strong or overpowering. It’s not something I would’ve tried on my own so I’m glad it was included.
  7. Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant toothpaste-It’s not the brand I use, I’m more of a Crest person but, I have tried Arm & Hammer before. I mean, it’s toothpaste and everyone needs toothpaste.

That’s it for my Walmart beauty box. Like I said, overall I’m not impressed but it’s just my first one so I can’t write it off just yet. And, it’s only $5! I’m looking forward to seeing what the next box contains!
