My recent make up purchases

Hey guys!!  It’s been a minute since I’ve posted anything.  I’ve been reading everyone else’s blogs, I just haven’t had time to do anything with my own.  But, I’m back now and I wanted to share some of the products that I’ve bought over the past 2 weeks.

I’ll start with bh cosmetics.  I absolutely love them.  They have great products at affordable prices.  First is the bombshell illuminating baked blush.  The original price is $10.50 but they’re on sale now for just $6.00!  The shade I bought is sunkissed.  The other six colors they have are: Harmony, Delightful, Elegant, Daring, Flourish and Vivacious.  I haven’t worn it yet but I’ll post pics/do a review as soon as I do. I also bought their automatic eyebrow pencil in the color Dark Brunette.  Right now it’s on sale for $4.00 and the original price is $6.00.  I’ve been using an eyebrow kit from e.l.f since forever but I just wanted to try something new. The last thing I got from them was the 15 pc Rose Gold Brush Set. I was in desperate need of new brushes. They were $25.00 but they’re currently out of stock.  You seriously can’t beat these prices and they always have the best sales!

I saved the best for last…MAC!!!  I love love love EVERYTHING that I got from there!  First, their new and limited edition scented Prep+Prime Fix+.  There are five scents: Romantic Rose, Calming Lavender, Energizing Yuzu, Cooling Cucumber and Creamy Coconut.  They were selling really fast.  Cucumber and Rose were the only kind they had left when I got there.  The cucumber smelled ok but I liked the rose better so I grabbed two of those…one for myself and one for my bestie.  I’ve been using it every day.  You spritz it on before and after applying your make up or you can wear it alone just to hydrate your skin.  It’s amazing!!  The next thing I got was the Pro Longwear nourishing waterproof foundation.  I also bought the Pro Longwear concealer.  To control any oily spots I went ahead and bought the Prep+Prime Skin Refined Zone Treatment.  It’s mattifying, minimizes pores and controls oil.  It can also be worn without make up.  It works wonders,  I absolutely love it!!  Finally…the lipsticks!  I’m convinced that MAC has the best lipsticks in the history of ever!!  The three shades I got are Persistence which is matte, Odyssey which has a frost finish and Syrup which has a lustre finish.  They go on so smooth and creamy…they’re absolutely beautiful.  Oh, and the fact that they smell like candy doesn’t hurt!  I’ve been wearing them every day.  I also picked up the shade Stone for my bff.  The best part for me was that they were only $13.50 a piece.  I went to the MAC store on base and almost everything is a little cheaper there.  The actual price is around $16.00.  I’m sure most of you know that MAC products are not cheap, but if you feel like splurging a little and treating yourself, I promise it’s worth it!

Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy

Hey loves!! Tomorrow is Friday…yay!! So real quick, I just wanted to share how much I love this gel nail polish from Revlon. This is the reason I won’t be going back to a nail salon to get my nails done, well my fingernails anyway….I’ll definitely still be getting my toes done lol! Anyway, this stuff is awesome! It’s long lasting and there’s a very nice selection of colors.
I got these two colors and the diamond top coat(which is needed) for $5 a piece at Target. I don’t have a picture of my nails right now because it’s time for me to redo them, but as soon as I do I’ll be sure to show them off!!
That’s it from me tonight. I’m still reading everybody else’s blogs though!! Have a great night loves!! 💋

I did it again 😮

I said I wasn’t going to do it.  I said I wasn’t going to buy anymore stuff, especially hair products. I mentioned in one of my other posts that my supply of hair products is fully stocked. I don’t/didn’t NEED anymore, but of course I WANTED more.
I took my boys to get haircuts yesterday and my oldest is like me, very particular about what he puts in his hair. He wanted to get some shampoo/conditioner from Sally Beauty Supply. He uses Shea Moisture African Black soap deep cleansing shampoo and the balancing conditioner.

Both boys have eczema and dry, itchy scalp so this stuff really helps them with that. Shea Moisture products just happened to be  on sale, great! I love a sale!

I have been wanting to try Creme of Nature Argan Oil products for a while. Some of the curly girls I watch on youtube have had great results. I figured, why not? It’s cheaper than the stuff I normally use. So in my mind even though I was buying stuff I didn’t need again, I was still winning, lol! I bought their sulfate free shampoo, pure-licious co-wash, Argan buttermilk leave in hair milk, the pudding perfection curl enhancing creme, their intensive conditioning treatment and their strength & shine leave in conditioner. I also bought some more Jamaican black castor oil because I did actually need more of that,  and I got some rice paper oil absorbing blotting tissue.

It all came to a total of $75. My boy looked at me like I was crazy! I mean, he got two things so the whole $75 wasn’t just my stuff. That and the fact that what I bought this time is cheaper than my “go to” products, well that’s pretty much the only defense I have. 😐
I may do a review on it. I hope it’s as good as everyone says!

More Goodies

So…I bought some more stuff Friday from the exchange on base. I shouldn’t have and definitely didn’t need to but it was only a few little things. First, I came across this Olive & Green Tea soap by Nubian Heritage. I had never seen it before but it smelled good and it’s supposed to be anti-aging, moisturizing and nourishing. Besides, I’m all over anything with green tea!! Next, I headed over to the NYX counter, I just couldn’t resist. I bought the lipstick butter in the shade Taffy Bonbon Au Caramel. That’s one of the shades I didn’t have and it’s cute for spring. I also got cream eye shadows in Pink Rose, Pink and Copper. I’ve only had one other cream shadow, I got it in my ipsy bag last year and loved it, so when I saw these…I had to!! They opened a MAC store in the exchange not too long ago and I was on my way in there but my wife Emily was two steps ahead of me and pulled me away. Dang it! It’s ok, we’re on base often so it’s inevitable, I WILL be in there soon! Right outside the MAC store was this little boutique with really pretty spring/summer dresses. I was just looking with no intentions of buying, but Emily came across two that were absolutely beautiful and matched the NYX shadows I had just bought. So of course I bought them! We were out the whole day, we went so many places and that’s all I bought!  I’m so proud of myself. We went out today and I didn’t buy anything. I’m telling you guys, I have a problem when it comes to shopping  and the struggle is real lol! I’m sure someone can relate, I can’t be the only one! Also, I tried a sample of Maybelline Fit me! Matte + Poreless foundation, loved it!! That’s what I used for yesterday’s make up. The shade I used was 220 Natural Beige. I think I may be replacing my bare Minerals Bareskin Pure Brightening serum foundation with that stuff!! I just wanted to share that with you guys, enjoy the rest of your Sunday loves! 💋 image

Aphogee Moisture Rich Leave in conditioner Review

Before I get into the negative review of this product, let me just say that there are a few other Aphogee products that I like and use such as the Curlific Textured Wash, the Curlific Curl Definer and the Keratin Green Tea Restructurizer. They work very well for my hair, especially the restructurizer. I’ve been using that for about a month and I’ve really seen a difference in my hair. Now back to the leave in…this has got to be the worst leave in conditioner I have ever used. It dries my hair out so bad and leaves my curls looking frizzy and lifeless. My hair just ends up being a big dry poof.

It doesn’t matter what other products I use with it or in what order. I’ve even used it with just the other products I mentioned earlier, I figured they’re all from the same line so maybe that would make a difference. Nope, same result. I’ve used it several times just to be sure before writing it off, I’m sure. This stuff is no good for my hair and I will not be using it anymore.

I gave it to my son to try out and he said it works just fine for him. Well he can have it honey! I will however continue to use the other products and I saw a couple more at Sally Beauty supply that I want to try, but since my hair care products are fully stocked I guess I’ll hold off on buying anything new.

If any of you use or have tried Aphogee products let me know what you think. And for all my naturals and curly girls, what products work best for you?
