Maple Holistics Silk 18 Conditioner Review

Hey beautiful people! Today I’m reviewing the Silk 18 Conditioner from Maple Holistics. I’ve been using it in combination with their Argan Oil shampoo for about a month now and I’m really liking the results. It has 18 silk amino acids which are supposed to provide moisture and shine. I’ve definitely noticed that my hair is super soft and seems to be well moisturized. My hair tends to get a little dry in between washes especially if whatever products I’m using aren’t really doing their job, but since I’ve been using these products that hasn’t been an issue. Like all products from Maple Holistics, the Silk 18 Conditioner is sulfate free. Oh yeah, it smells good too…like vanilla cupcakes! So if you’re looking to switch up your hair care routine and you need something affordable and  non-toxic that’s going to help with retaining moisture, this conditioner or any of their other products could work for you. Maple Holistics, Silk 18 Conditioner, All Natural Hair Products

Maple Holistics Argan Oil Shampoo Review

Happy Sunday everyone!! It’s been a long week. I’m winding down today and we’re going to put up our Christmas decorations a little later, but first I wanted to do a quick review for you guys. Maple Holistics was kind enough to send me another one their shampoos to try. This one is the Argan Oil Shampoo. Maple Holistics, ArganOil Shampoo, Natural Haircare ProductsIt’s sulfate free and contains argan, jojoba, almond, peach kernel, camellia seed, avocado, and botanical keratin. I really liked this shampoo because I could tell it right away how moisturizing it is. My hair felt so much softer and it was easier to detangle. I also felt like it actually removed all the buildup from my scalp as well. It smells good too.  I’m big on smells, doesn’t matter what it is…shampoo, skincare products or makeup, I LOVE when products smell good! Another thing I love about this brand is that their products are all natural and affordable. They have a wide range of products from bath & body, haircare, health & food to skin & personal care. I did a review on their Tee Tree Oil Shampoo, you can check that out here. Also, if you’d like a free sample of one of their products, click here. Just fill out the form and receive your free sample!

That’s it for now, I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great week!!

Maple Holistics Tea Tree Oil Shampoo Review

Hey guys! I know it’s been a minute since I’ve posted and it’s because…well, life. Lol! Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and I’m back with a review of a product that was sent to me by Maple Holistics. They specialize in natural and holistic products for bath and body, hair and skin care, personal care and even food. I received a bottle of their Tea Tree Oil Shampoo to try.

Maple Holistics Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

It’s sulfate, parabens, gluten, GMO and cruelty-free. It’s supposed to clear away dead skin and sooth the scalp. I’m very picky with what I put in my hair but I’m all about natural products so I was very interested in testing this out to see how my hair responded to it. While I was shampooing I kind of felt like it was drying my hair out. But it felt really nice on my scalp and it smells like tea tree oil so no problem there. After I dried my hair I waited before adding any other product just to see the full effect it had, and my hair actually wasn’t dried out. It felt really smooth and lightweight like all the build up from the hair products I use regularly had been washed away. I was impressed. I personally would use this specifically as a clarifying shampoo. It’s not going to add any moisture to your hair so I’d follow up with a good moisturizing  leave-in product or conditioner. Overall, I think it’s a pretty decent shampoo. Anything that actually does what it claims to do is a win in my book! If you’d like to try this or one of their other products for free, go to their free sample page and choose which product you’d like to receive. Too easy!

That’s it for now. Until next time…XoXo

I Cut & Straightened My Hair+New Hair Care Products

For the past 3 1/2 years I’ve been wearing my hair in its natural state which is curly. I made that choice after noticing that using a flat iron everyday had caused my hair to start breaking off. That was it, no more heat. But, over the past few months I noticed that my curls weren’t as curly and my hair was more poofy and frizzy. I literally couldn’t do anything with it other than wear it in a bun…everyday. So after going back and forth with myself for a while, I decided to cut it and wear it straight for a while before transitioning back to curls. The damage has been cut off and I know how to properly care for my hair now so I’m confident that I’ll be able to pull this look off without damaging my hair again. Curly hair is so hard to care for and it’s time consuming, not to mention the expensive curly hair products that will just about cause you to go bankrupt! I’ve never cut my hair before other than a trim here and there for split ends and I thought I was going to miss having long hair but honestly I’m loving it! It’s so much easier to deal with. wp-1487868384271.jpg

Of course with having my hair straight again that meant I had to switch up on the hair products that I had been using. My hair curls back up when I wash it but I don’t want to use products that are specifically for curly hair or anything that’s going to define my curls. So, here are the products I’m currently using…

These products seem to be working well for my hair and the best part is that they’re all under $10 and available at Sally Beauty Supply. I’m still going to experiment with different products to see what works best but for now I’m satisfied with these products and I love my new hairstyle!

Quick & Easy Curly Hair Routine

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share my updated curly hair routine. I haven’t posted anything about my hair or the products I’ve been using in over a year. It’s changed several times and since I just went and had my first curly session and cut, I’m switching it up again. I went to Oasis Hair Salon in Rockville, MD. They specialize in curly hair and they’re one of the best curly salons in the area. They’ve been featured in different articles which is how I came across them and why I chose to go there even though it’s an hour 1/2 drive for me.
Anyway, back to today’s products…I still wanted to share them because anyone with natural/curly hair knows the struggle of trying to find the right products, the right order in which to use them and the everyday struggle of trying to keep frizz to a minimum. I’ve found a couple different things from different brands that work for me but these particular ones are the cheapest(curly hair products are expensive), work the best and cut the amount of time I spend doing my hair in half.Natural hair products

First, I wash my hair with true shampoo by made beautiful. I follow up with their co-wash conditioner and detangle before rinsing it out. Both the shampoo and conditioner contain shea, honey, coconut and mango. This conditioner makes it super easy to detangle, I don’t even have to use a comb or brush, I just use my fingers. As soon as I get out of the shower and with my hair still soaking wet, I add ECO Natural Conditioning, Curling N’ Styling Cocktail. Then I wrap my hair in a cotton T-shirt while I finish getting ready and by the time I’m done it’s about 65-70% dry. I just let it air dry from there. In case anyone is wondering why I dry my hair with a shirt…regular towels cause frizz in curly hair so I either use a 100% cotton T-shirt or a microfiber towel.
I love the Eco Curling and Conditioning Cocktail! It acts as a gel making my curls last longer without making them crunchy or hard and it conditions really well. It contains olive oil and shea butter. My hair stays moisturized longer and my curls are soft, fluffy and bouncy.

After about 3-4 days I spritz my hair with the Hair Milk Refresher Spray by Carol’s Daughter, that adds moisture and brings my curls back to life for another two days or so.

The first three products mentioned are free of sulfates, and parabens. The ECO Conditioning N’ Styling Cocktail is also alcohol free.
The Hair Milk Refresher Spray does not contain parabens, mineral oil, petroleum or artificial colors. All products are available at Sally Beauty Supply.

Have a beautiful day everyone!

I did it again 😮

I said I wasn’t going to do it.  I said I wasn’t going to buy anymore stuff, especially hair products. I mentioned in one of my other posts that my supply of hair products is fully stocked. I don’t/didn’t NEED anymore, but of course I WANTED more.
I took my boys to get haircuts yesterday and my oldest is like me, very particular about what he puts in his hair. He wanted to get some shampoo/conditioner from Sally Beauty Supply. He uses Shea Moisture African Black soap deep cleansing shampoo and the balancing conditioner.

Both boys have eczema and dry, itchy scalp so this stuff really helps them with that. Shea Moisture products just happened to be  on sale, great! I love a sale!

I have been wanting to try Creme of Nature Argan Oil products for a while. Some of the curly girls I watch on youtube have had great results. I figured, why not? It’s cheaper than the stuff I normally use. So in my mind even though I was buying stuff I didn’t need again, I was still winning, lol! I bought their sulfate free shampoo, pure-licious co-wash, Argan buttermilk leave in hair milk, the pudding perfection curl enhancing creme, their intensive conditioning treatment and their strength & shine leave in conditioner. I also bought some more Jamaican black castor oil because I did actually need more of that,  and I got some rice paper oil absorbing blotting tissue.

It all came to a total of $75. My boy looked at me like I was crazy! I mean, he got two things so the whole $75 wasn’t just my stuff. That and the fact that what I bought this time is cheaper than my “go to” products, well that’s pretty much the only defense I have. 😐
I may do a review on it. I hope it’s as good as everyone says!
