That is all. Happy Easter everyone!!
Hey guys, I’m back with a review of two of e.l.f.’s new skin care products. I’m always on the hunt for new products so when I saw that e.l.f. had come out with this line of skin care products I knew I had to check it out! I found it in Wal-Mart and decided to just start off with the Nourishing Night Cream which is infused with purified water and Jojoba. It claims to rehydrate and refresh your skin overnight and I also got the Illuminating Eye Cream. It is also infused with purified water and vitamin E. It’s supposed to help hydrate and minimize the appearance of dark circles and puffiness.
I have combination skin which has been more oily lately, so I have to mix and match my products accordingly and balance everything out between the oil free products and the ones that aren’t. Because the facial cleanser I’m currently using is oil free, I was o.k with the fact that these particular products from e.l.f. didn’t state that they were.
So first off, the packaging is super cute….I mean it caught my attention right away. The price is pretty decent but of course, all of their products are. I paid $12.25 for the night cream and $10.00 for the eye cream. Now, I didn’t actually expect the eye cream to do anything about the dark circles under my eyes, but I thought it could possibly be good for moisturizing…which it is. As for the night cream, I was fine the first week but after that my forehead started breaking out. It wasn’t anything major but it was noticeable especially since I never break out(thankfully). What was totally noticeable was how oily my skin was in the morning and throughout the whole day….I mean my entire face!! Usually if a product isn’t compatible with my skin and causes excess oil it’ll only be on my forehead and nose. I stopped using it immediately. My MAC Prep+Prime skin refined zone wasn’t even helping to control the shine and I swear by that stuff!! So yeah, that just wasn’t going to work out for my life lol! I don’t think I’ll be purchasing any of the other products and honestly, I probably won’t even buy the eye cream again. It’s good especially for the price but still…I’ve used better. If you don’t have a problem with oily skin these products might be good for you.
You can go on their website and see the complete line of skin care products. The only other products I saw in Wal-Mart was the Daily Hydration Moisturizer for $9.25 and the Soothing Serum for $11.75.
I hope you all enjoy your weekend and thanks for reading!
So I’m going through all the make up on my vanity, in my drawers and in my make up bag. I have 3 or 4 different make up bags scattered around but here’s what’s in the one I actually use and carry.
Tarteist lip paint, color “Frenemy”
Tarteist lip crayon, color “Squad”
(These two together are everything to me right now💋)
L’Oréal Color Riche lip liner, color “Lasting Plum”
MAC lipstick, color “Syrup”
Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick, color “Pure Hollywood”
Bare Minerals Original Mineral Veil powder
MAC Prep+Prime skin refined zone
Nivea hand lotion
I have a few lip products in my bag because I’m too lazy to change them out every day or every other day, so I just leave the ones I use most frequently in the bag. I don’t need or like to carry a bunch of make up products with me because the only thing I actually have to touch up is my lipstick and depending on which foundation I use, I might have to apply a little of the Prep+Prime after a few hours to get rid of shine. There it is, very simple.
That’s it for now…kisses 😘

Let me just start off by saying that I’ve NEVER seen so much snow in my life! I’m from Raleigh/Durham NC where it barely snows & when it does, it’s more like a dusting. That part of NC gets more ice than snow. So, when we moved here to northern VA the snow was something we definitely had to get used to. It snows like 3-4 times a yr & it’s a considerable amount. Although, this was only the second time it snowed here this winter…the weather has been all jacked up around here. Anyway, Jonas came through and showed out lol! Making up for all the spring like weather we’ve had over the past two months I guess. Our area got about 30 inches.
There’s no school for the kids again tomorrow. They’ve been out since Thursday. My wife is a federal employee in DC & they’re still shut down tomorrow as well. The sidewalks & roads in our neighborhood got cleared today but I still haven’t gone anywhere since Friday. I did go outside Saturday to play in the snow with Isaiah but that didn’t last long because the snow started coming down harder, the wind picked up & the temperature dropped. I spent a lot of time looking out of the window watching in amazement as everything was quickly covered with a blanket of snow. It was so pretty!
Also on Saturday before it got really bad we had two little visitors. Two pitbulls were wandering around. They were freezing & the way my conscience is set up…I had to bring them inside. I see them often roaming around the neighborhood. They belong to someone around here, they both have collars on & they’re just as sweet as they can be. So I fed them & one of the neighbors had already called animal control. The roads were getting kind of bad so I wasn’t sure if they were going to come out, in which case I would’ve had to keep them inside. I love doggie babies & there’s no way I could’ve sent them back out in that mess.
Anyway, things are clearing up, I’m hoping the kids will be back in school by Wednesday & hopefully there won’t be any more snow. It’s pretty & everything, but…nah, I’m good lol! I REALLY miss NC weather.
Everyone enjoy the rest of your night & thanks for reading!
I know I’m a little late but…Happy New Year!! I hope everyone has been off to a good start in 2016. I’ve been neglecting my little blog for about 6 months. I’ve been wanting to post but it’s been crazy around here. Things have finally calmed down so hopefully I can get back into this and post as often as I’d like to.
I brought in the new year celebrating my birthday, it’s on the 6th but I started on the 1st lol! I didn’t do anything major, I had cake & opened presents from the boys before my wife took me to Richmond for a little weekend getaway. We stayed in a nice hotel right next to a mall and a bunch of other stores…one of which was ULTA(my fav)! Needless to say, I did a bit of shopping! We enjoyed a very romantic dinner at Texas De Brazil, an amazing brazilian steakhouse. Everything was on point, the food, the service and the atmosphere. We also went to the movies and watched “The Forest”…didn’t love it & I’ll leave it at that. I really had a great time and can’t wait to go back, hopefully soon!!
Our oldest son’s birthday is today! He’s 15…I can’t believe it. It makes me kind of sad, I mean I’m happy and thankful that he’s healthy/happy & I love seeing the young man he’s becoming but goodness….these 15 yrs have gone by soooo fast! I swear it seems like time is speeding up now. He’ll be 18 & graduating high school very soon. That’s major! While he’s definitely not a baby anymore, he’ll ALWAYS be MY baby.
Next month we’ll be celebrating our youngest son’s 9th birthday. I feel so old lol! Enjoy every minute you have with your little ones. I know everyone has heard this a million times but it’s absolutely true….they grow up so fast.
Hey guys! I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. I have the house to myself right now and I’m loving the peace and quiet. When I have free time like this and there’s nothing important that needs to be done I like to hop around on different social media sites. My favorite is Pinterest. You can find any and everything on Pinterest! It’s basically online hoarding. So while I was sitting here doing just that, I decided to put together some of my favorite quotes. Sometimes you can read or hear something that just resonates…it’ll be exactly what you were thinking or feeling. Here are some of the quotes that have stuck with me over the years, a few of these have been on my “favorites” list since I was a teenager…..such a long, long, long time ago lol!

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without excepting it. -Aristotle
The whole is more than the sum of its parts. -Aristotle

For every dark night, there’s a brighter day. -Tupac
If you let a person talk long enough you’ll hear their true intentions. Listen twice, speak once. -Tupac
Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside while still alive. Never surrender. -Tupac

We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospection. -Anais Nin
*I saved my absolute favorite for last!
I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger as reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn’t impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstacy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls. -Anais Nin
I hope you found one or two that you like or can relate to. Have a fantastical weekend everyone!!
I just wanted to share my thoughts on this Honey Dew Me Up skin serum+primer by NYX. I had been wanting to try it for a while but I could never find it. It says that it’s infused with honey, gold and collagen and it’s supposed to neutralize the appearance of discoloration/redness while creating a luminous look that lasts all day. I’ve tried it twice and I’m not loving it. It made my face extremely oily and I don’t really like the smell. It’s also ridiculously sticky because of the honey. I’m taking into consideration that your skin changes with the weather so I’ll probably try it again in the fall/winter and see if that makes a difference. It’s not terribly expensive, then again none of the products by NYX are. Ulta has it on sale now for $10.19. Even if it does well the next time I use it, I probably won’t buy it again.
