e.l.f. cosmetics

Hey guys, I’m back with a review of a few things from e.l.f.. It seems like every time I go to Target I come out with 4 or 5 of their products. So, let’s get into it!

First is their High Definition Under Eye Setting Powder…I have no issues with this stuff. It does what it’s supposed to do. I use it sometimes to set my concealer but it can be used alone. I’ve only purchased it once but, I’d buy it again.

Next is their eyebrow kit. I switch between this and the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow palette, but I’ve been using this one forever and it’s the one I use most often. You use the wax to fill in and shape your brows and then use the setting powder after. It comes with the little brush inside but it’s really tiny so I just use my own. They have 3 shades…dark, medium and ash. I use medium and I always buy two at a time because I go through them so fast…speaking of which, it’s about time for me to repurchase. It’s really a great product, especially if you’re on a budget or just starting out with makeup and you don’t want to jump right into buying the more expensive brands just yet.

What I’m loving most right now is their Beautifully Bare Blush. It’s so beautiful and I love the cream to powder formula. It’s really lightweight on your skin, natural looking and it is buildable. It comes in 2 colors…Rose Royalty and Peach Perfection. I have Peach Perfection..so pretty!

Next on the list is their Matte Lip Color/Jumbo Lip Pencil…what I like about this is that it’s not at all drying like some matte lipsticks. It goes on very smoothly. I have the shade Rich Red. They come in 15 shades. It comes with a sharpener at the base which I’ve never had to use since it twists up and down, but it’s a nice touch. My only issue is that it doesn’t last very long. It wears off quickly and ends up looking more like a lip stain instead, which is still very pretty. I just use a little setting powder on my lips before I apply it and that makes a huge difference in how long it lasts. It’s does pretty good for the price, I’d definitely buy it again.

The next two lipsticks I bought were the Moisturizing Lipsticks in the shades Black Berry and Bordeaux Beauty. I actually ordered them off of the e.l.f. website…I haven’t been able to find them in Target, at least not the Target near me. It’s a really light formula, you can’t even tell you have anything on your lips. They’re not drying but I wouldn’t say they’re moisturizing either. Like the matte jumbo lip pencil, they don’t last very long. Again, I just use setting powder beforehand.

I also have the Lip Exfoliator. This is the only exfoliator I’ve ever used for my lips. It contains vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avocado, Grape and Jojoba Oils. I have no complaints about it, it does what it’s supposed to do. Fun fact: occasionally some of it gets in my mouth and it tastes like brown sugar…so there’s that lol! As you can see, I need a new one!

Last up is the anti-bacterial daily brush cleaner. It’s great for cleaning your brushes in between uses. This is another product I’ve been using for the longest time. Oh, and it smells good lol!

BH Cosmetics Rose Gold brush set/28 Color Neutral Eyeshadow Palette

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying this beautiful Sunday. I’m home alone so I’ve been online checking out different cosmetic companies just looking for new products and I went through my stuff to see what products I need….and by need I mean want. I’m pretty sure I have everything I need lol!
Anyway, that brings me to the focus of this post…bh Cosmetics. I’ve mentioned them before, I absolutely love their products! Whether you’re on a budget or not you can’t go wrong here. Their products are of good quality and very affordable. I use their 28 Color Neutral Eyeshadow Palette almost everyday. It’s just perfect for everyday use and you can create night-time looks for going out as well. Now, the colors aren’t super pigmented but if you wet them problem solved, seriously. They blend easily and if used wet the colors are buildable.

Moving on to the best thing I’ve ever purchased from this brand is their 15pc Rose Gold Brush set. I have several other brushes/sets but this one is my favorite. The bristles are really soft yet durable and they don’t fall out. I’m able to apply my makeup smoothly and evenly. And to top it off, these brushes are so pretty! You need them in your collection!

On a budget? You’ll love this!

Hey guys! I just wanted to drop in and share some info with you all…I’ve been trying to do the whole “beauty on a budget” thing lately: quality products at affordable prices. One of the brands I’m loving right now is Coastal Scents. I had received a few of their products a while back as a birthday or Christmas gift and loved them! It was two of their lipsticks  and a bottle of their Raw Virgin Coconut Oil. LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Their prices are amazing so if you’re on a budget you’ll definitely want to give them a try.
I’m going to stock up on some of their oils, butters, lipsticks and three of their eye palettes that I’ve been eyeing 😉
I’ll add the link below if you’d like to check them out. By the way, they’re having an Earth Day Sale…25% off all their soaps, butters and oils!!

Happy shopping!!

Going through my makeup

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  The weather is absolutely beautiful but instead of going out today, I decided that it was time for me to tackle the mess that’s covering my little vanity.  My wife bought me this cute little vanity a while back from Bed Bath & Beyond.  I keep my makeup on top and I use the cabinet to store my many, many hair products.  With my ever-growing makeup collection, I’m running out of space and this vanity isn’t working for me anymore.  So at some point I’ll be going to IKEA to buy a new one and 1 or 2 of those ALEX drawers that everyone has.

Anyway, I just went through everything getting rid of the stuff I don’t use much and the stuff I just don’t like.  Actually, my sister in-law will be the proud recipient of those products lol!  I reorganized, tried to create as much space as I could because I’m always buying new things and I absolutely can not stand clutter!  I think I’ve got it worked out for now, I just have to clean my brushes and put them back.  I seriously can’t wait to upgrade my little glam station.
