Let me just start off by saying that I’ve NEVER seen so much snow in my life! I’m from Raleigh/Durham NC where it barely snows & when it does, it’s more like a dusting. That part of NC gets more ice than snow. So, when we moved here to northern VA the snow was something we definitely had to get used to. It snows like 3-4 times a yr & it’s a considerable amount. Although, this was only the second time it snowed here this winter…the weather has been all jacked up around here. Anyway, Jonas came through and showed out lol! Making up for all the spring like weather we’ve had over the past two months I guess. Our area got about 30 inches.
There’s no school for the kids again tomorrow. They’ve been out since Thursday. My wife is a federal employee in DC & they’re still shut down tomorrow as well. The sidewalks & roads in our neighborhood got cleared today but I still haven’t gone anywhere since Friday. I did go outside Saturday to play in the snow with Isaiah but that didn’t last long because the snow started coming down harder, the wind picked up & the temperature dropped. I spent a lot of time looking out of the window watching in amazement as everything was quickly covered with a blanket of snow. It was so pretty!
Also on Saturday before it got really bad we had two little visitors. Two pitbulls were wandering around. They were freezing & the way my conscience is set up…I had to bring them inside. I see them often roaming around the neighborhood. They belong to someone around here, they both have collars on & they’re just as sweet as they can be. So I fed them & one of the neighbors had already called animal control. The roads were getting kind of bad so I wasn’t sure if they were going to come out, in which case I would’ve had to keep them inside. I love doggie babies & there’s no way I could’ve sent them back out in that mess.
Anyway, things are clearing up, I’m hoping the kids will be back in school by Wednesday & hopefully there won’t be any more snow. It’s pretty & everything, but…nah, I’m good lol! I REALLY miss NC weather.
Everyone enjoy the rest of your night & thanks for reading!
