My Recent Favorites

Hey guys!!  I’m back and I wanted to share my most recent make up favorites.  Just a few things that I’ve been obsessing over lately.

some of my favorites

First off, Milani Gel Powder Eye Shadow.  I’ve seen a lot of beauties on instagram using this and I’m always looking for new things so I decided to give it a try.  The shade I bought is #29 Bella Rose.  I decided to only buy one to start with to see if I really like it and I do!  I love that it can be used wet or dry.  It’s very light and shimmery and it says it can be used as a highlighter.  I got it from CVS, it was about $4.00…very cheap but surprisingly good quality.  I’ve used it a few times and just love it!!

Next, I have an eye shadow by Elizabeth Mott, pop! goes the eye shadow, in the color Champagne.  I received it a while back in my ipsy bag and I’m just now using it.  This is also a shimmer/highlighter kind of shadow.  I’ve been using it for my less dramatic looks when I just want something simple or when I’m too lazy to do a full face of make up.  It’s simple yet effective and so pretty.

Moving on to mascara…first of all, I have to say that Too Faced Better Than Sex is my absolute all time favorite.  I have yet to find a mascara that works better than that, but I’m always on the hunt.  So a while back when Benefit came out with the Roller Lash mascara, of course I had to have it!  Unfortunately, I was not at all impressed.  It did absolutely nothing for my lashes except make them darker.  No length, no volume, nothing.  FAIL.  Definitely not worth the $24 in my opinion.  About two weeks ago I bought the Lush Lashes Mascara collection by NYX from Ross for $14.99.  Again, not impressed.  I was so disappointed…four mascaras in this collection: XXL, Stacked, Voluptuous, and Curvaceous and I still didn’t get anything close to what the Better Than Sex mascara provides.  So I decided to try “stacked” with the Roller Lash to see if that made a difference.  Well, it made a huge difference!!  I tried that with every one of the NYX mascaras and the only one that it didn’t make a difference with was “XXL”.  The results are seriously better than Too Faced and I NEVER thought I’d say that!  Alone, these five mascaras aren’t worth anything as far as I’m concerned.  I’ve been using the Roller Lash with either “Stacked”, “Vuluptuous” or “Curvaceous” every day and I’ve gotten so many compliments!  Love!!!

And last on my list but no less important…Too Faced Primed & Careless Pure oil free Primer for sensitive skin.  I love this primer compared to the others I have because it’s the only one that my face doesn’t get extremely oily with.  I have combination skin, one day I’ll have little dry patches and the next day my face will be really oily.  So I’m picky about what I put on my face.  I use this particular primer in combination with MAC’s Skin Refined Zone Treatment and I only dab a little of that on my T-zone and above my eyebrows.  It’s been working really well so I’m going to stick with it for now.

That’s all I have for now but I plan on hitting up ULTA, Sephora and possibly MAC next week so we’ll see what kind of goodies I come back with!
